For the past three years I have worked inside a place called The Farmland. It is right in the center of my town where I live. Farmland is a grocery store, deli and a bakery, which is the department I work in, called Giulio's Bakery. At first I wasn't excited to work at a bakery because I didn't know what to expect. My sister works there as well which is why I thought it would be a good idea to start working there. I figured I wasn't going to like it because it was constantly busy and I had to take orders for customers and deal with pasties and cakes. After working there for a while I realized I loved it. I never thought I would have been interested in working with food. For the most part it didn't even feel like a job it was more fun. I learned how to decorate different cakes and cookies. I also learned how to make a ton of different Italian pasties which was really cool because my family is all about Italian food. Dealing with customers is never easy but I now love to decorate things and play around with different foods. When dealing with food people are really tough. They like everything their way and you have to make sure you accommodate their needs. I think it will defiantly help me deal with certain situations when I'm older because when becoming a teacher, parents are never easy when it comes to their children. Learning how to deal with difficult people will defiantly come across in the field of Education which is defiantly beneficial.

  1. I agree that working in a job in which you are required to do some customer service is difficult, but as you said it will definitely will help us later when we are required to work with parents and other teachers. I used to work as a cashier and now I am a waitress at the same restaurant. Most of the time it is fun (I also work with my siblings), but other days it is tough dealing with certain customers. Although some days are tough, it will definitely be beneficial as you said.
